Model 252CTL - Case Taper & Printer Applicator Demonstration

We're at day two of Westpac, specifically at the ID Technology section of the ProMach booth, and today we're going to quickly talk about a solution that integrates a case taper with either a case labeler or an inkjet printer. In the past, customers would buy a case taper and then separately buy a chunk of conveyor to put a case labeler or an inkjet printer on. What we've done, and it really shows the power of ProMach, is the Belcor team and the ID Technology team have come together to create an integrated turnkey solution that tapes the case and labels the case. I'll quickly demonstrate this. Brian is going to feed the case for me. We feed it through the taper and apply a label to the front corner. On one side, we have inkjet printed, which is one option for the customer, and on the other side, we've applied a label to the corner of the case.

The real magic happens when we need to change the case size. In the past, the operator would have to adjust the case taper and then go down to adjust the guide rails for the inkjet printer or the labeler. Now, with the labeler and the inkjet printer integrated, when the operator adjusts the taper, the inkjet and the labeler automatically move with it. This simplifies the process, removing one of the tasks for the operators, and it has the added benefit of reducing the footprint, which is always a concern in manufacturing locations. The integrated devices take up less space.

To better illustrate this, we'll run a large case. As you can see, the label is applied to the front, and the inkjet is applied to the side. When Brian adjusts the taper, the inkjet heads and the labelers move automatically, without the operator needing to intervene. This is the advantage of being part of ProMach and integrating two systems together.
