High Resolution Inkjet Printing System with Reject Station

ID Technology has designed a high resolution inkjet printing system that prints, scans and verifies bar codes on two sides of a box or carton.

Four or more high resolution inkjet printheads are mounted directly on to a sturdy, modular, industrial conveyor. No tools are required to individually align each printhead.

The inkjet printheads that will be printing bar codes are attached to a special floating mount. This unique mounting allows the printhead to adjust for slight variations in box shape and size while maintaining optimum print quality.

The alarm and reject station is integrated with dual scanners mounted on each side of the conveyor. If the bar code read rate should drop, an amber light alerts the operator. An unreadable bar code will trigger a red alarm. Read failure of bar codes on both sides will activate a pneumatic arm that pushes the case onto a "reject" conveyor.

Since all system components are mounted directly to the conveyor, creating a self-contained unit, the high resolution inkjet printing system can be easily installed into a production line or relocated to another part of a manufacturing facility.
